ANIMA energy going into the New Year with ÆDEN; a modern lustgarten of Elysian charm
ABOUT THE MUSIC:
MCMLXXXV (1985)
…whose real name is Nicole Endlicher, is not just an event organizer and DJ – He’s also one of the founders of Berlin’s most legendary parties: Herrensauna. A collective that’s pushing the boundaries in what appears to look like a saturated market for hedonism and play. At 18, he started going to parties and that’s where he came into contact with electronic music for the first time and began his journey towards MCMLXXXV. During this time he would enter the world-famous club, Berghain, which would influence him massively and give him a life changing experience.
The experience at a MCMLXXXV set is… no restrictions. You have the freedom to do whatever you want, as long as you don’t hurt anybody or yourself. That is the vibe that’ll be transported through the night, and you can see how people respond to it and how relaxed and open-minded everyone is. Often the result is that people – men and women – take their clothes off! That’s because his music isn’t your trendy watered down Techno, this is ‘scare your parents’ kind of Techno, This is REAL Techno, Basically… PROPER BANGING TECHNO!!
IGNEZ
Berlin-based DJ/Producer, owner of Somov records and Eerste Communie resident.
By not taking usual paths and knowing his inner self, it all felt natural for Ignez to devote more of his life to electronic music. His roots are in between dust of sand and waves of saltwater. Ignez grew up near the north coast of The Netherlands where hypnotizing waves and infinitive sand dunes shaped his sound. He fled the conservative world by sketching his own reality with these elements of nature. This became inextricably linked within his consciousness and reflects back into his music today, bringing a tight yet indefinable techno sound. In his DJ sets, Ignez lifts the dancefloor to a higher state of being and a collective oceanic feeling.
BEATRICE
Hailing from Spain and based in Berlin, up-and-comer Beatrice is one to keep an eye out amongst the new generation. She started DJing at 19 drawing inspiration mainly from powerful-based techno rhythms and melodic pads. Now, at only 23, emblematic dance floors such as Berghain's ,Tresor's and Basement’s have already been witnesses of the vivid and energetic force that surrounds the Spanish native's sets.
SMOOTH OPERATOR
Fundamental Love Project of CRYME & ogtrues. They make their long-awaited debut at Anima’s New Year event!
JIN-SU
Hailing form San Francisco. This Taiwanese-born transplant has a passion for interlocking rhythms and syncopated grooves that lead to endless results.
OSKAR KNICKELBEIN
Hand Made Music
From Berlin with a Focus on minimal, driving and danceable tracks. He incorporates theoretical concepts from classical music and jazz to bring more soul into this technical music. A believer that dance floors are a place to find love and happiness, rather than to ‘forget oneself’
