Emerging from his hometown in Oakland, CA, AYBEE comes from family roots deep in innovation, artistic exploration and music tradition. The inspiring energy of the “ Black Experience ” motivated AYBEE to undertake his own style as an artist in the early 00’s. In 2001 AYBEE created Deepblak Recordings as a footing for his own musical creativity, which in turn caught the eye of Ron Trent who signed him to Prescription Records. With a versatility that is genre defiant, AYBEE consistently transcends the boundaries of Techno, House, Experimental and Hip Hop not only with his production, but seamlessly in his DJ sets.
Ugandan born, Jenifa Mayanja is revered as one of the first ladies of deep house who has entrenched herself in the underground scene for more than 25 years. Mayanja received her first break as the buyer for Joe Claussell’s Dance Track Records whilst working behind the counter alongside Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy. These experiences soon landed her a spot in the booth at Body & Soul; a party organised by Claussell with Francois K & Danny Krivit. Since then, Jenifa has tirelessly showcased her wealth of knowledge whilst staying true to her African roots, founding the well established Bumako in 2007. The label was at first an outlet for Mayanja’s own production, but soon evolved with releases by her close friends. As a producer/vocalist Mayanja brings an original, fearless style with a genre binding approach reflected in every performance - a true representation of soul music.
