Here we are a week into the official summer and another edition of our NEXT series. Who better to usher in the unmistakable Berlin techno summer feeling than a Berlin legend himself - the peerless Tanith. In the Tresor family of DJs since the very, very humble beginnings in 1991, he has carried the techno flag into the millenium with prowess and skill that the years of Loveparade, Tresor, Ewerk and historic events have provided. On hand for solid back-up program: France's Perdyl on Rong Musiq; Viktoria Rebeka who often expresses deep and groovy sounds but also dark and twisted - she likes to combine house and techno elements in order to create a raw but again sensual and fine atmosphere. While living in Berlin she is trying to push boundaries in order to develop new perspectives on electronic music. Finally, Thomas Hessler delivers deep, pulsating techno & stripped down grooves. His sound is true and hard-hitting in style. Born in East Germany, Thomas weaves together early influences and creates unique productions that are balanced components of depth, mood, space & atmosphere. You came to Berlin for some wicked techno? This is your techno night so get ready for THE REAL DEAL. Upstairs on the more housey Globus Floor: Gunnar Wendel aka Kassem Mosse is a modernist of the genre, taking a very exotic and worldly approach to groovy house music and giving it an urban twist. Check out his amazing 2008 release "Aqueous Haze (The World Disappeared Into An)" on Youtube and you'll see what this artist with numerous machines can produce in a fantastic live set. UK artist John Osborn resids in Berlin since 1999, he has been DJing for 15 years and has crafted a deep dubby style which has been turning heads and shaking asses. In a time when artists rely heavily productions to steer their DJ careers, the power, groove and intensity of John's DJ sets have allowed him to have won over the masses without releasing a million records. In Berlin John Osborn has been co-curating the successful JackOff parties, that has developed into a well respected record label that is soon to feature a release from John himself. Also recently he launched his new label Tanstaafl together with partner October, who also shares the decks tonight playing his style of house, techno, deep house and space dub. He also frequently enjoys analogue synthesizers, tape machines and electric guitars. Both John Osborne and October create some Tanstaafl magic in Globus tonight. Lastly, if you appreciate house and techno music with depth and sophistication played with tight technical skill and genuine feeling, Eric Cloutier should be on your radar. His recent sets have become an attraction for dedicated heads seeking a deeper shade of electronica than your average weekend warrior. He put out several well received podcasts in 2009, and is working on a few new ones and delving into the studio for some original productions.
