PROPAGANDA was founded in 1982 by Ralf D Körper, a former member of the band "Die Krupps".
PROPAGANDA sprang from the lively Düsseldorf punk and new wave movement such as “Die Krupps”, “Male”, “DAF”, “Fehlfarben” and the “Toten Hosen”.
Together with the DJ and Plan producer Andreas Thein and the singer Susanne Freytag, the trio initially started with two titles.
Just one year later, Michael Mertens, an enthusiastic and professional percussion expert, joined the trio with the Düsseldorf Philharmonic and Claudia Brücken.
In 1985 the singles “Duel” and “P-Machinery”, which were very successful in Europe, were released. The accompanying album "A secret Wish", whose sales exceeded the million mark over time.
The melodic album, produced with danceable synth beats, concise, unique and chilly sung by Claudia Brücken and Susanne Freytag managed to meet the musical zeitgeist of the time in a special way through the voices of the two artists and achieved a significant position in modern music history.
After a successful world tour in 1985, the remix album "Wishful Thinking" was released
In 2010 Propaganda achieved a surprising chart success in the British charts with an expanded version of the album “A secret Wish”.
After three successful concerts in September 2019, Claudia Brücken and Susanne Freytag will be on tour again and will appear as D: uel in four German cities in 2020. They perform the music of propaganda, which is shaped in particular by their voices, the character and the uniqueness of the songs.
