“My art is a protest against indifference, against poverty, against ignorance, & against war.”
— Jeanne Mammen
Step back with us into the fevered nights of Weimar Berlin, where liberation pulsed under the shadow of an encroaching storm.
It was an era where we danced on the edge of a volcano, where freedom and creativity thrived even as the world felt ready to erupt.
Join us for a sensual celebration of freedoms & defiance where we are both witness & participant, dancing with the urgency of a world that needs our love & resistance. Together, we will waltz through this fragile moment, alive & unfraid—a testament to what community can mean in the face of adversity.
House of Lunacy invites you to be part of a night that is not only a celebration of us and our community but a call to stand next to one another—especially those within our threatened communities who continue to face hatred & prejudice.
Our final waltz draws parallels to today—a world facing resurgent fascism, hatred; rising intolerance, and the silencing of dissent.
In these uncertain times, it’s more crucial than ever to remember that history has warned us, time and again, of the cost of inaction and silence.
This is a reminder: we have the power to create a space where all are free to exist boldly & without fear. Just as the artists, lovers, & outcasts of Weimar Berlin crafted beauty amidst turmoil, we too must use our voices, our art, & our presence to defy the tides of intolerance.
Here, the past speaks to us, urging us to remember we dance because every step, every touch, is an act of defiance. We waltz because there is strength in unity & tenderness in rebellion. Our very existence is rebellion.
Let us come together as they did in the halls of old Berlin, with passion & pride. Let us raise our voices to break the silence and hate that threatens to creep back.
Here, we are alive, unafraid, & undivided.
Let’s share this final waltz & remember, with every movement, that history has taught us to cherish each other, to stand as one, & to always speak for those whose voices are being silenced. When people's right to exist are being questioned, their autonomy over their own bodies is threatened. We must stand.
Let us honor those who came before us by carrying forward their fire. In every beat, every movement, every hand held tightly, we prove that love & community are our strongest forms of resistance.
History may cast its shadows, but together, we are brighter. We still have a chance—to lift each other, to protect each other, & to create a world where freedom, dignity, & joy reign for all.
We are not free until we are all free.
