OY x Berlin

First the world moved closer together, then the borders were raised again. This is the bad news. But the good news is that OY aren't playing the game.

Singer/keyboardist Joy Frempong and producer/drummer Melodydreamer have been making music across musical, linguistic and cultural boundaries for a decade. The Berlin-based duo with roots in Ghana and Switzerland have been delighting audiences on stages around the world since 2012, be it at festivals such as Eurockéenes in France, Rec Beat in Brazil or in club shows in downtown Cairo and New York. Most recently, they were on a European tour as a support act with the Colombian band Bomba Estéreo in 2022. So it's only logical that the title of their next album is »World Wide We«. Polyglot negotiations of political and personal issues are implemented musically. From Electronica Afrobeat Avant-Pop to Hip-Hop, Trap and Jazz - OY's music is more varied and consistent, stylistically more open and self-contained than ever. »World Wide We« is an open invitation to everyone who wants to dance all the clichés to the ground at the duo's acclaimed concerts.
