After the cancellation of many open-air festivals on Wednesday (March 10th), fans of the PAROOKAVILLE Festival in Weeze with 210,000 visitors still have some hope July 2021) is increasingly unlikely, but a postponement to a weekend in September is also currently being considered.
"We are not canceling the festival summer yet and are examining all possibilities, as some other electronic festivals in the Netherlands, Belgium and England are currently doing," explains Bernd Dicks, one of the three founders of the PAROOKAVILLE Festival in Weeze. >
In the past few months, the Parookaville team has prepared everything to such an extent that implementation would still be possible on the planned date at Weeze Airport. In view of the current situation, however, the remaining four months are a very short period of time for the necessary decision-making and approval processes.
“Of course, the health of everyone involved continues to come first. But we are also really excited to finally celebrate with our citizens and artists again and create positive emotions. We don't leave a chance for a Parookaville fully unchecked and have therefore also opted for an appointment in September at Weeze Airport. ”Says Bernd Dicks.
“It is still too early to say whether and what can then take place. But we're definitely not giving up on summer 2021! ”
Should there be another cancellation, the citizens of PAROOKAVILLE can again rely on a fair and uncomplicated regulation for their tickets. As in the previous year, they would have the choice of keeping their tickets for the following year without increasing the price or, alternatively, of having the purchase price refunded. In 2020 around 70% of citizens kept their tickets.
