Every year, the magic of Christmas attracts around 800,000 friends of the traditional Christmas spirit to the historical backdrop of the Gendarmenmarkt. Between the Konzerthaus, the German Cathedral and the French Cathedral, the stars shine at the top of the characteristic booths with white hoods with the large Christmas tree in the center of the square.
Artists, craftsmen and entertainers
The Christmas magic at Gendarmenmarkt is known and popular for its wide range of artistic offers. A large tent serves as a demonstration room for artisans. Wood carvers, Kammacher and tailors, among others, show their skills there. Handmade candles, toys and decorative items can be bought as original gifts.
Culinary delicacies for Christmas time
In addition to the traditional roasted almonds, chestnuts and mulled wine variations, visitors will also find extraordinary nibbles and selected menus. In the heated and covered dining area, nobody has to gobble down their food before it cools down, but can comfortably feast in the warm.

Part of the entrance fee is donated to cultural and social institutions in Berlin every year.
