MoTrip was born in Lebanon and emigrated with his family to Germany in 1990 due to the civil war at the time. Since then he has lived in Aachen. Due to the influence of his older brother Hassan El Moussaoui, he came to rap at a young age and began writing his own lyrics at the age of 15. After a few published songs and positive feedback, various well-known rappers became aware of MoTrip. For example, there were collaborations on publications by the artists Kool Savas, Samy Deluxe, Fler, Silla and JokA. In 2011 MoTrip was also featured on the soundtrack for the film Blutzbrüdaz by Sido.
At the end of 2011 MoTrip signed a contract with the major label Universal Music. His debut album Embryo, which includes guest contributions by Marsimoto, Silla, JokA and Raf 3.0, was released on March 2, 2012. The first song on the album was the title Nightmare, including a music video, that was released in mid-2011 until February 24, 2012 the first digital single Kennen including a music video followed.
“Hip-hop insiders” discuss his alleged work as a ghostwriter for other Berlin rappers such as Bushido.
In September 2013 MoTrip released the song Good Morning NSA, alluding to the 2013 surveillance and espionage affair.
