radioeins from rbb invites you to a beautiful reading with Bjarne Mädel, Fritzi Haberlandt and Matthias Brandt
Every apartment has them: their sore points and their hotspots. Be it a special sofa, a built-in wardrobe, the dining table. What do furnishings reveal about the people who live in this apartment?
That is the real-life and far-reaching question of the audio book project “I’m next door. Monologues for home" with texts by Ingrid Lausund directed by Bjarne Mädel with twelve monologues read by Bastian Pastewka, Angelika Richter, Katrin Wichmann, Bjarne Mädel, André Jung, Lina Beckmann, Matthias Brandt, Jens Harzer, Fritzi Haberlandt, Bettina Stucky , Sophie Rois and Michael Wittenborn.
"I'm next door" is a panorama of episodes about contemporaries and their interior design attempts: people who paint their walls mint and light blue to protect themselves from the threatening outside. Those who fight panic attacks with comfort rituals. For whom their perfectly cleaned kitchen is as sacred as a church. All of them bizarre, lonely and insecure people who fight for survival in their small parallel universes with themselves and their immediate surroundings.
With her monologues, Ingrid Lausund opens the doors to twelve apartments and reveals the fragile foundations of the soul in the shadow of designer furniture.
radioeins from rbb is presenting the project as part of a beautiful reading with Bjarne Mädel, Fritzi Haberlandt and Matthias Brandt at a place with an eventful past that is currently in the process of being refurbished: in the former Colosseum cinema in Prenzlauer Berg on Schönhauser Allee. The event will be broadcast live on radioeins. radioeins literary agent Thomas Böhm will guide you through the evening.
