Timo Blunck, born in Hamburg in 1962, is a musician, singer, composer, producer and author. From 1981 he was the bass player of the internationally successful avant-garde punk band Palais Schaumburg. At the same time, Blunck and Detlef Diederichsen founded the band Die Zimmermänner, with whom he is still active today.


After working in England and the USA, Blunck has been running the BLUT company in Hamburg since 2001, which produces music for films, events and advertising. The Optimist is Blunck's second novel after Didn't we even have sex in the 80s ?, for which there was also an accompanying musical solo album. www.timoblunck.com
