After a successful start in April 2023, PIA pop abroad is now entering the second round. As in episode one, on June 16th we present you three musical acts in the Berlin club abroad. Yuliia Vlaskina aka Super Inter, Gorgyra and Marylou will be there. Experimental, deep, minimalistic, transformative, noisy and border-crossing tones await you throughout the evening.
PIA pays particular attention to the fringes of what is commonly perceived as pop music. Unusual designs, a wealth of ideas and the unconditional will to express are just as important as a strong performance. You won't find format pop in the PIA program, instead you'll find yourself in a kind of sound laboratory situation.
Yuliia Vlaskina, aka Super Inter, is a Ukrainian composer and producer and a member of the Kiev underground electronic music scene. She is an audio engineer and technical writer and hosts the radio show "To Hear Is To Feel" on Cashmere Radio. Their glitchy sound often comes from field recordings and sketches the air of the time.
Gorgyra is a project by the artist Azin Zahedi, an Iranian-born Berliner by choice. As Gorgyara, a river nymph of the underworlds, she delves deep into her new realms, blending traditional memories with dreamlike visions.
In her DJ sets, Marylou delicately mixes traditional and contemporary music/sound, weaving a delicate web of noise, nature, improvisation and a pinch of psychedelic avant-garde.
