Lustgarten is back. After a little hiatus, we return in true form with an absolute belter to celebrate the hot hot heat of summer. Our anything-goes-policy remains firmly intact, of course, while we have found a new home at Kreuzberg’s Prince Charles – pristine Funktion-One sound, exotic cocktails and courtyard vibes all-inclusive. To celebrate the occasion, we have curated a line-up that will make your head spin in delight: let’s get tropical!
Trouw, Redlight Radio, ESP Institute, Rush Hour, Dekmantel, Boiler Room – we could keep name-dropping forever. Let’s stop here and talk about Young Marco’s biggest strength: the element of surprise. A crate digger through and through, the Amsterdam wild-child has a genre-free approach, expertly blending just about anything into a tour de force of musical magic. In his own words: “It's not about trying to find the best records; it's about finding pretty shit ones with potentially one amazing song on it. [...] It could be some ambient track, but it could also be a super heavy, jacking club track. It just has to have a heavy impact.“
Sandwiching Marco will be no other than Melbourne’s free spirit Fantastic Man and fellow Dutchies Times Are Ruff. The former has been making waves with his eclectic productions on labels such as Love On The Rocks, Let’s Play House or his own Fine Choice Records, as well as under his given name Mic Newman. The latter have released a string of excellent Chicago and disco infused records on their vinyl-only label of the same name, which led to much celebrated live- and DJ-sets at Panorama Bar, Rex Club or Studio 80. To complete the shindig, our residents James Martin and Christopher Breuer are on warm-up duties.
