We like to celebrate the New Year a little bigger and look back 36 hours non-stop with our residents, the entire team and selected favorite artists over the past 12 months. In addition to the anticipation of all the upcoming and partly already planned events in 2018, we are particularly looking forward to Electric Indigo this evening, which has her upcoming debut album in tow in January. The Viennese-born career dates back to the late 80s. In 1993 she released her first EP on Experimental. It's hard to believe that it took another 25 years for the LP, which is now to be released on Robert Henke's Imbalance Computer Music. It was worth the wait, however. The record consists mainly of extremely intense breaks techno. Top-heavy drones create a soundtrack feeling and show their affinity for work away from the clubs. Particularly noteworthy is the track “Trois”, in which she processes the voices of Jennifer Cardini, Etapp Kyle and 18 other vocalists. Jesper Dahlbäck, Ray Kajoka and Mørbeck are real veterans and have had a lasting impact on the international techno scene, both as DJs and producers. Jesper Dahlbäck hit the dub notch on the legendary Svek label, while Mørbeck orientated himself on the hip-hop of the 90s and Kajoka on Detroit techno. The work of Venezuelan producer Aérea Negrot, on the other hand, is based on a musical foresight that produces abstract pop with technoid grooves between classical and electronic music. Meanwhile, she lived out her affinity for pop as part of Hercules & Love Affair. Working alongside Andy Butler, Kim Ann Foxman and Shaun J. Wright, she brought uptempo soul, golden era house and synth pop to a common denominator on Blue Songs.
