Let's start a new decade, and our ever popular New Year's Eve reflects some facets of our overall musical program. Box1 is all about recycle - and for this we have put together a high-quality line-up again. Phace has been known since his darkly chilled debut album "Psycho", a hi-speed D&B massacre with industrial sounds, shuffling drumlines and deep bass. The longstanding collaboration with Noisia, which has produced numerous tracks and other projects, should also be emphasized. In addition to countless EPs such as "Now & Tomorrow", "Energie" and "Motor", Phace released his next solo album "Between" last year, on which he showed progressive creativity with some surprises from the dark side of Drum'n'Bass returns.
In addition to all the worldwide tours, Phace managed to set up his own label Neosignal in collaboration with Misanthrop at the end of 2008. The joint album “From Deep Space” was also released here after a creative phase of one and a half years. As a DJ, Misanthrop plays in clubs and festivals around the world, as a producer he successfully releases his self-titled album on renowned labels such as Division, Shogun Audio, OWSLA, Mau5trap, Renegade Hardware, Subtitles Music and Neosignal Recordings. "Misanthrope" was published. The repertoire ranges from a complete demolition to detailed sound experiments beyond mass compatibility.
Commix hit the Drum’n’Bass stage in 2003. His first releases were on Aquasonic, the Blue Sonix label, New Identity by DJ SS and John B’s Tangent Recordings. Back then, Commix still pursued an exclusively soulful approach. The big breakthrough came in 2004 with the LP "Future Sound Of Cambridge" on Hospital. In 2007, Commix got the offer to release an album on Goldie's legendary label, which opened up a huge opportunity, because Metalheadz is still considered the most important drum'n'bass label worldwide. As part of a new generation, Commix has learned one thing above all from the old dogmas called sound research, avant-garde and futurism: Basically, it's always about emotions and good vibes. And the boy from Cambridge wants to bring that old ghost back to life. As in the past in "Hardcore", when drum'n'bass and techno were still a unit, it picks up the elements of the modern techno sound and brings them to the drum'n'bass floor.
Then there are of course our good guys Mr.Jay, N’Dee and MC Jamie White.
With Delfonic, Marc Hype and Kalle Kuts, three of our favorite residents play on the second floor. The three can and will deliver a wide range of music. We look forward to a lot of soul, funk, disco and hip hop, as well as everything else that goes with it. This should ensure an appropriate start to the new year.
