The techno event and label series Sample+Hold returns after some hiatus, hosted by Swedish producer Patrik Skoog (Agaric, FAR, Headroom, FAR Electronics). Along with the work released on the Outis label, our main guest Dino Sabatini has been a reliable fixture on labels like Stroboscopic Artefacts, Elettronica Romana (home to several releases by his 'Modern Heads' duo with Gianluca Meloni), Adam X's Sonic Groove, and Prologue, where he's collaborated with Donato Dozzy. Listeners familiar with these labels' respective approaches will understand the kind of versatility it takes to record for each one without sacrificing one's 'trademark' sound in the process. The Italian-born producer is an artist whose strong body of work has helped to develop his local scene, and redefine what it now means to work with electronic music. Versho has had some well received EP's on our sister label Discrete Data last year, and is just out with his own Clone distributed techno-label Pivot. Robotron from Piramide Registrazioni recently impressed us with his Detroit inspired EP on the LA label ESP Institute. Anders Hellberg and MYR both also collaborate under the name Chain and have had releases out on Planet Rhythm as well as a 12" on our own Sample+Hold label. As solo artists they operate musically in the world of distinct techno-music equally inspired by the modular systems generating the sounds as the dark and cold Scandinavian landscapes of where they grew up.
