A live set by Exercise One is something to behold: they are is the boisterous Mobilee duo that bustles with kinetic energy and thrives on the stage. To DJs they are the crafters of cracking tracks on wax; to clubbers around the world they’re the live act that hurtle forwards like a runaway train. Berlin-based Marco Freivogel and Ingo Gansera were both seasoned musicians before they met, and in a short time their respective backgrounds as live performers combined with the energy of Berlin to create Exercise One with an abundance of creativity. The creation of their own label Lan Muzic in 2005 jump-started their careers when their first record, Kitchen Tools EP found its way into Anja Schneider’s DJ box. Schneider immediately signed the duo and within a year they had released their first 12” Steady Pulse, a raw take on minimal techno that set the stage for what was to come. Exercise One have continued to refine their high-energy sets, perpetually adding, subtracting, and reorganizing the pieces of this unique mosaic. The duo made a landmark live appearance at Sonar music festival and shortly thereafter began a string of performances for distinguished festivals and venues such as Fabric, Panorama Bar and Fusion, plus worldwide tours, and numerous live shows as part of Mobilee’s 5th anniversary tour. Born in 1985, Chris Tietjen still is one of the youngsters in the world of electronic music – he certainly doesn’t lack experience. He’s gone on several big tours, hosted his own series of events „Next Generation“ at Cocoonclub (Frankfurt), mixed various compilations for Cocoon (recently the official Green&Blue compilation 2010 with Steve Bug) and he’s been behind the decks in the most important clubs around the globe. Sebastian Radleier - who his fans have known him by Sebrok over the years - has been a regular invited artist in our club for over a decade: a fine house DJ influenced by modernism inflicted with classic house vibes. Hreno alias Chris Hreno hails from Montreal, now lives in Berlin and releases on Sound Architecture, Fur Trade and Next Door Recordings. Downstairs in Tresor the NEXT series claims the night again, this time with invited guest Tadeo. With the meticulousness of an erudite Tadeo has been experimenting, investigating and developing his sound on the dancefloors and in the studio, and now he is an established DJ and producer, label manager of Cyclical Tracks, NET28 founder, and member of the most interesting label family from Spain: CMYKmusik, Apnea and Mupa. He constructs imaginative and impossible DJ sets using the standard set up, two decks and a mixer, going from minimal to techno – and viceversa – with superb skills. The connection with the crowd has always been Tadeo's main goal when facing a dancefloor. In the studio he renews and combines the best of Detroit and Chicago with avant-garde sounds. Material Object has several aliases that tend to really raise eyebrows when you consider them: Elektronik (With Pete Namlook), Magnus (With Tim Xavier), MODZ (With Dustin Zahn). Not enigmatic just some underground loveliness. DJane Dinamite is placed and recognized in the scene underground of Madrid. Her skill is clearly on the decks and her musical vision is to make her sets heard through until the end. Dinamite is characterized for her dark and forceful beats with retro touch. Sets where she combines styles, dynamic and groove. At the moment she is resident DJ at Stardust Club and Trax Club. With excellent evening collaboration from Damage Music Berlin's Mario Berger, NEXT has never been so magnetic, kinetic and compelling - so be sure to include this on your Saturday night Berlin program. We are waiting for you.
