Jessica Ekomane is a French born sound artist living in Berlin. Her work could be heard in the German pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2019 and festivals such as CTM and Unsound. On Cashmere Radio she moderates the excellent monthly show 'Open Sources', on which she combines traditional music and folk with contemporary experiments. In 2019 her debut album 'Multivocal' was released on Important Records. Her constantly changing and immersive soundscapes are based on questions such as the relationship between individual perception and collective dynamics or the investigation of listening expectations and their social roots. KMRU is Joseph Kamaru's project. The artist, who grew up in Nairobi and currently lives in Berlin, interweaves field recordings with delicately spotted ambient sounds to create dream-like sound sculptures. After his much-praised album 'Peel' from 2020 - released on Editions Mego, the label of Peter Rehberg, who unfortunately died far too early - his current album 'Logue' followed this spring.
