Club night

Today's club night at Berghain is all about the Berlin Mala Junta crew. At their intimate, queer parties, the musical focus is on hard, fast old-school techno and more melodic trance – no matter how different the backgrounds of the individual DJs may be. Yazzus, who was born in Ghana, grew up in the UK and now lives in Berlin, plays alongside D.Dan, DJ TOOL and Hyperaktivist. Their music is also influenced by the explosive energy of the early 90's rave phase, their tracks on labels like Steel City Dance Discs and Tresor keeping you entertained with rumbling basses, muscular drums and acid-soaked basslines. Hyper Epic is the name of KiNK's current EP on his Sofia label, a fitting title for the bubbling, all-consuming, positive rave energy that the producer, regularly voted best live house act, is able to release here again. KiNK can be heard live tonight at Panorama Bar, alongside DJs like Ece Özel, who has been shaping the Turkish house community for a decade as resident DJ at Istanbul club arkaoda and co-owner of the Müstesna Records label.
